Campaign Topics

Minutes:

Members agreed to postpone any discussion of Campaign topics until the next meeting of the Stockton Home Safety Association 10th October 2023.

With a view to holding an event in Thornaby town centre during the summer of 2024.

Report of The Adults Health Officer

Minutes:

There was no Adults Health Officer present at the meeting.

Report of The Trading Standards Officer

Minutes:

Members were presented with a verbal update from the Trading Standards Officer, highlighting recent closures of premises for the sale of counterfeit Tobacco products.

Members brought to Officers attention a premises which they had been made aware of by members of the public, for selling alcohol after licensable hours.

Officers would investigate the reports following the meeting and update members of any outcomes.

 

RESOLVED the update be noted.

Report of The Home Safety Officer- Children's Services

Minutes:

Officers gave a verbal update to Members, highlighting that Officers had continued to deliver Safety Sessions to the public. Focusing on dangers of prop feeding which had recently been banned due to the dangers associated with their use.

First Aid courses for Children from ages 8 – 11 and 12+ had also continued with Officers attending Practical Parenting Sessions in Family Hubs to demonstrate first aid for unresponsive babies, EG Baby CPR. A number of aspects would be covered in the sessions as well such as baby bathing, monitoring of breathing, nappy changing.

 

RESOLVED that the update be noted.

The Home Improvement Agency Officer had sent their apologies as they were unable to attend the meeting.
