As per the Cabinet decision on 16th May 2024 / decision details https://moderngov.stockton.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?ID=347 authority to decide the date from which the Council will begin to accept applications for Selective Licensing was delegated to the Director of Adults, Health and Wellbeing, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration be authorised. The date from which the Council will accept applications for Selective Licensing being 1st October 2024.

Reasons for the decision:

In accordance with the Cabinet decision on 16th May 2024, authority to decide the date from which the Council will begin to accept applications for Selective Licensing was delegated to the Director of Adults, Health and Wellbeing, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration. This will allow the Council to commence accepting applications ahead of the proposed implementation date for Selective Licensing of 1st November 2024.

No alternative options considered. Allowing applications from 1st October 2024, will allow the Council to commence processing licence applications and issuing licences in a timely manner.
